What is skin cleansing?

Cleaning the skin is the starting procedure for any other procedure, being one of the techniques that must be done regularly, for the prevention and maintenance of the health of the skin of the face.

The technique is able to provide a series of benefits to the skin and that is why it is so indicated, especially in shorter intervals of time. It is one of the main procedures involving health and facial aesthetics.

Even though there are several ways to clean the skin at home, cleaning done with professional intervention should be done regularly, for any type of skin. However, oily skin should be the main recommendation, since sebum production is more common.

There are two ways to clean the skin, which is professional, done by a specialized person and homemade, which can be done at home with a few ingredients.

Skin cleansing lasts, when properly performed, on average, 40 days. Each patient must be analyzed and, only afterwards, submitted to a specific skin cleaning for him/her. This should always be done by a specialist. This is a procedure that should not be done at home, by the patient, but in an outpatient setting, with a beautician, dermatologist or functional dermato physiotherapist.

Skin Face Cleansing Lasting

So that the result of the skin cleansing lasts longer, avoid sunbathing in the first 48 hours after the procedure and the use of exfoliants, try to use calming agents and thermal water, as they help in the healing of the skin. In everyday life, use a good soap (preferably gel) for cleaning, tonic, night, a good Facial Cleanser Brush everyday, and day moisturizers and sunscreen.

Skin Types

Despite having an average duration, depending on the characteristics of each skin, the lifetime of the procedure may be shorter, as in oily skin, where the appearance of blackheads occurs more easily, due to the greater production of natural oil. Added to this is the clogging of pores caused by makeup residues and pollution.

In combination skin, the appearance of blackheads is more concentrated in the T-zone, where the oil is produced in greater abundance on the forehead, nose and chin.

In dry skin, the results tend to last longer, since the incidence of blackheads is lower, but even so, periodic cleaning is necessary to leave the skin renewed and deeply clean.

Can everybody do skin cleansing?

People with inflamed and yellow pimples should not undergo the problem, as removal damages the skin and aggravates acne.

Other contraindications involve people with rosacea, with scaly skin, very sensitive skin, tanned or who are undergoing treatment or the use of an acidic product on their skin.

In the case of pregnant women, they can do skin cleansing, however, the beautician will use less aggressive products or will do a more superficial cleaning, thus avoiding the appearance of spots on the skin.

How is skin cleansing done at the clinic?

Skin cleansing performed by a beautician follows certain steps. Discover the step-by-step:

Skin Cleaning

It is only through superficial cleaning of the skin that it is possible to prepare the skin for the other steps of the process. To remove impurities, a lotion is used to remove the oiliness of some impurities and remains of skin products. The beautician can also carry out the passage of substances for skin detoxification.

The make-up removing lotion is passed over the entire length of the face, which is massaged by the professional. Finally, a gauze is used to spread the product on the face using circular movements.

Therefore, there is the removal of oiliness and fat from the skin.

Steaming to Open Pores

So that later on there is the removal of blackheads and certain pimples (since the removal of pimples causes stains), the professional will stimulate the opening of the pores, carried out by the application of water vapor or ozone.

Then there may be the application of a mask to encourage further softening of the skin's surface.

Exposure to water vapor or ozone can last from 5 to 10 minutes.

Skin Exfoliation

In the skin exfoliation part, the indication is the removal of the most superficial layer of the skin and its dead cells. By exfoliating the skin, the extraction of blackheads and impurities from the skin is even easier.

In order to exfoliate the skin and use proper movements, an abrasive product is used, usually an exfoliant with microgranules. However, for people who have inflamed pimples, it is necessary to worry about using a specific procedure.

The beautician will make circular movements on the face with a gauze so that the action takes effect. Soon after, the product is removed with a clean gauze.

Blackhead Removal

After preparing the skin, the blackheads are removed. Removal can be manual, which in turn is done with the aid of a piece of cotton moistened with an antiseptic lotion, minimizing discomfort. Another option is extraction with the aid of a needle or a carnation sucking device.

A micro needle is used to extract the milium, which will remove the sebum ball formed by penetration and pressure applied to the skin. Commonly, the beautician will follow an order when removing blackheads: nose, chin, forehead and cheeks.

Once the process is complete, a high frequency device will be passed over the skin to relieve the region and help with healing.

Use of Soothing Mask

Already in the final stretch of the process, the beautician puts a mask, usually soothing, on the face for about 10 minutes to calm the skin and soften the redness. Removing the mask should be done with water and a clean gauze, using circular movements.

In the midst of this process, the beautician can perform facial lymphatic drainage along the entire length of the face, so that swelling and redness can be treated.

Use of Sunscreen

Finally, in order for the procedure to be completed, the beautician applies a moisturizing lotion with a sunscreen with protection equal to or greater than 30 SPF. Therefore, there is skin protection and stain prevention, as after removing impurities, the skin becomes even more sensitive.
